The modem takes a really long time (45 minutes??? searching at
1500434923 and registers at 1500437657) to find LTE and register.  But
it eventually does so.

Then a connection attempt is made at 1500438198; are you triggering
that somehow?  It succeeds at 1500438211.  Once that happens, you
should be able to DHCP on the usb0 interface (or whatever it is) or ask
ModemManager for the static configuration with "mmcli -b X" (where X is
the bearer that was activated, as reported by "mmcli -m Y" where Y is
the modem number).  Use those values to configure the interface with
its IP address and the routing table with the gateway and optionally
the default route and DNS.
