mobile-broadband-provider-info with roaming sim cards

Hi,
i'm trying to use the serviceproviders.xml file from https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mobile-broadband-provider-info
together with NetworkManager to get the correct APN setting in cases where the connection doesn't work automatically.

In cases where the registration is home this is working but not (always) with roaming sim cards.

NetworkManager will set the APN to the entry found with the network-id (not the sim-operator-id).
This doesn't always work, depending on the network provider.

It does however work, when I set the APN for the sim-operator-id manually (with nmcli).

Is there a way to make NetworkManager use the sim-operator-id when roaming?
