I would like to add anoother thing that does not work:

I cannot switch user: after a few seconds I just get the default request to
enter my password (like after looking the screen) rather than giving me the
possibility to choose a different user name (I cannot use the switch user below
the password text line). 

I use gnome (last release of fedora 10).
