Some more news:

I cannot reproduce this on a single screen setup. I removed my second monitor
and the problem seems to vanish. When I readded it, it came back.

I have an unsual setup with a 21' lcd and a 15' lcd rotated to right and left
of the first screen. The main reason to use nouveau is the randr1.2 support.
