Hi, could you dump some registers for me?  You need to:

git clone git://anongit.freedesktop.org/~stuart/radeontool; cd radeontool; make

then, for all possible options of outputs you can test (DVI (DVI-D) and VGA
over DVI (DVI-A) would be good), do a fresh boot of linux (using video=ofonly
as mentioned in comment 4), and run "./radeontool unlock; ./radeontool owner 0;
./radeontool regs > regs-OUTPUT_TYPE.log"

once you've got the dump files, attach them to this bug report.
