rmmod'd the nvidia kernel
disabled all but 1 core
echo'd mmiotrace to current_tracer
started the cat on trace_pipe
ran startx & loaded openbox @ 2560x1600
echo'd "X is up" to trace_marker
changed resolution: xrandr --output default --mode 1920x1200
echo'd "resolution changed to 1920x1200" to trace_marker
echo'd nop into current_tracer

Additionally I tried adding uscript_tmds=0x0002 and uscript_tmds=0x0105
parameters to the nouveau modules, both resulted in a blank screen.
