It seems like missing dependencies to me.

I had similar messages on my Ubuntu and Arch.
* Ubuntu
   "apt-get build-dep xf86-video-nouveau"
* Arch
   "makepkg -s /path/to/build/script/PKGBUILD"

Take a look for an appropriate solution for your distro, or simply use this
list
NOTE: Archlinux example - may be incomplete

* 'xorg-server'
* 'xorg-server-devel'
* 'xproto'
* 'fontsproto'
* 'libdrm'
* 'xf86driproto'
* 'randrproto'
* 'renderproto'
* 'glproto'
