Do you use xorg.conf? If yes, please remove it and recheck.
Periodical flickering might disappear with drm_kms_helper.poll=0 in kernel
command line.

After you do the above, please attach:
- new dmesg
- Xorg.0.log
- vbios (see http://nouveau.freedesktop.org/wiki/DumpingVideoBios - nouveau
