As almost an aside:
It so happens I just got rid of a 19-in. Magnavox LCD TV.
(circa 2009 - Probably a Philips inside)
What has amazed me to this day, the quality/richness of picture 
(720p - for example) and _all_ inputs including HDMI.  About < $200 US.
One of the best pieces of machinery I've ever owned.
Hopefully it ended up used by orphans in Uganda (making Bram Moolenaar
(of vim fame) proud and happy).

I rarely keep trees around;  for safety and lack of space.

I always start a kernel build from scratch.  For example,
 time tar xJf /usr/local/downloads/linux-3.10.1.tar.xz
takes roughly 15 sec. - negligible compared to the time I waste in life.
So I don't have to bother with reverses and such.

Right on the money.
I never buy a card without VGA.  Nor, for that matter, a PC without the green
analog output (to use in those very rare cases - almost unheard of, but one
never knows, do one? -  where the HDMI sound might not work).
