What's the status of this bug.  The last activity is from a year ago on
November 2014.  I think I'm affected by this bug.

My desktop is unusable.  I know your all busy with life, but a little
reassurance that this is going to get fixed would be appreciated.

P.S.  And if I can help out anyway I will.  I used to build from source years
ago before Git came around, but I could learn fast on how to apply patches from
source if necessary if you teach me.
