                    "fifo: PBDMA0: 00200000 subc 0 mthd 000c data
                    00000000"
           Product: xorg
           Version: unspecified
          Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
                OS: Linux (All)
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: medium
         Component: Driver/nouveau
          Assignee: nouveau at lists.freedesktop.org
          Reporter: matthias.h.nagel at gmail.com
        QA Contact: xorg-team at lists.x.org

Kernel version: 4.4.26

Graphic card: "ASUS GeForce GTX 660 PCI 3.0 2GB DDR5"

uname: "Linux 4.4.26-gentoo #1 SMP Mon Oct 31 17:05:30 CET 2016 x86_64 Intel(R)
Xeon(R) CPU E3-1230 v3 @ 3.30GHz GenuineIntel GNU/Linux

SW versions:
x11-base/xorg-drivers-1.18-r1
x11-base/xorg-server-1.18.4
x11-base/xorg-x11-7.4-r2
kde-plasma/kwin-5.7.5

The system freezes, the X screen gets locked, mouse can still be moved,
switching VT console is not possible, three-finger-salute does not work, no
keyboard login possible Login via SSH and reboot still possible.

The bug is usually triggered if huge parts of the display needs rapid updates,
e.g. compiling a piece of software in a X terminal in full screen mode.

I use the proprietary PGRAPH firmware due to bugs #69882, #93629, #93630 and
#95054.

Kernel message:

This message floods the logs until they are overwritten from the beginning. The
other message is "Missed NN kernel messages".
