[Nouveau] Linux 4.19 slowdown / crash - nouveau - Ubuntu 18.10 / Alienware 17 R5

Interestingly (at least to me) I switched to i3wm and this hasn't
happened in days. Maybe something in Gnome tickles this bug? I should
try KDE just for the halibut and see if it recurs.
