[ooo-build] Question on a ooo-build bug: "section protection when importing MS Office"

Hi all,

to start with, the subject bug was reported to Novell bugzilla (here [1]).

Prompted by the reporter, Davide Dozza, I started to hunt the bug down.
So far I've found it is introduced by the ooo-build patch:

field-patch.diff

that is, if I disable it, the bug disappear.
This bug seems to be in other ooo-build derived version as well.
I checked only on an Ubuntu 9.04 remix OOo (version 3.0.0), and it was
present there.

Unfortunately I can't understand what the patch does, the OOo Section
behavior and Word import filter are still kind of unknown to me.

Is there someone willing to point me in the right direction?

Unless someone else already started the hunt on his/her own...
