Robert, could you please report it at https://bugzilla.novell.com against the 
product OpenOffice.org, so we could track it there?

It might be a binary incompatibility or so. We would need backtrace and the 
full strace. See http://en.opensuse.org/Bugs:OOo#How_to_get_strace_log for 
some hints.
