We could change the behavior so that the conversion is triggered by a 
milestone announcement + once a week a cronjob (for the case the mail got 
lost or something).  Or better, update of the source tree mirror more times a 
day, and start the conversion only when a new tag/branch is introduced.  It 
will need an update for Mercurial anyway, so at that time I'll implement 
something like that.

Currently, the conversion starts every 2:00am UTC, ping me if you need an 
immediate start of the conversion.
