Dear Ian
what kernel do you have? (you know you must type: uname -a)
you can try, depending by your kernel, (if you want) my Go-OO 3.2 packed
in squash file system I have built for Puppy (but theorically usable by
all other Linux distros)
http://puppylover.netsons.org/dokupuppy/programs:office_suite:go-oo
mounting in loop
mount -o loop sfspackage.sfs directorywhereyouwantmount
then go to this directory where you have mounted sfs
/opt/openofficeorg.3_/program/
and here you will find all swriter, scalc, sdraw and so on... click on
to starting application
in this way you can have Go-OO
- without install
- you can put sfs module also in an another external partition
My sfs has already a dictionary en_Us, that gives you also spell
checking ability
