I suspect that patch is incorrect or at least a bit premature.
Chrome9 requires changes to the existing code, it won't just be a case
of adding IDs.
VIA submitted a totally separate DRM driver (see
http://marc.info/?a=123010403800004&r=1&w=2) for this hardware.

If the hardware really is disimilar, then having a separate DRM driver
probably makes sense (and this probably leads to a different X.org
driver too). But I'm not sure to what extent that is the case.
