Hello

As the year comes to a close we can reflect on where this project
is. The first year and half of this project was spent just getting the
xorg driver up to date with early KMS support. By July we had a release
which is now being patched up to fix bugs. After the release my focus
started going back to the KMS work. As you have seen we now LVDS support
for KMS. The next few weeks the project will be cleaning up some out
standing bugs that are blocking the next release of the xorg driver. It
has also been nice to see in the last few months developement work coming
from external developers.
With the upcoming new year the focus will now be enabling acceleration
with the KMS part of the xorg driver. This will include supporting boards
up to the VX11. VIA was also kind enough to send out VX11 boards to the
developers which should be arriving in the next month. Also the openchrome
team reached out to S3 and WonderMedia. The hope is that these platforms
will be running openchrome by the end of 2013. So a lot to look forward to
in the next year.
