Hi Kevin,

  Yup, as far as I observed, current KMS driver code in kernel does not bring
any crash on my Ubuntu 12.04 OS with VGA port except the error I met. So at
least James Simmons' code is pretty good although it has not been verified for
quite a long time. We are so lucky to work based on previous James' previous
great work.
  So let me verify if HDMI is working for my board. If that can work, you may
not need an HDMI->VGA converter.
