'git reset --hard HEAD' and 'git reset --hard HEAD~1' fixes most
problems with Git :)

Speaking from experience, one can spend countless hours in the man
pages and then grepping stack overflow trying to figure out how to do
the simplest of task. Sometimes its easier to simply do the simple
stuff, like run concurrent clones or reset a repo to avoid fighting
with the tool with the merges.
