Hi everyone,

I just released OpenChrome DDX Version 0.6 Release Candidate 1.
Due to personal reasons, the release of OpenChrome DDX Version 0.6 was delayed by close to 6 months.
As usual, the code is far from perfect, and it is definitely nowhere near where it can be called Version 1.0.
That being said, major fixes that went into the code, and these are some of the highlights I can think of.

- First official support of CX700, VX700, and VX800 integrated TMDS transmitter (i.e., DVI support)
- Initial support for Silicon Image SiI 164 TMDS transmitter
- Improved FP reinitialization when resuming from standby
- Better steering of the display controller channel depending on the type of display output device attached
- Improved X Server stability in dual monitor mode
- Better automatic detection of display resources
- FIx for the distruption of the VT (Virtual Terminal) screen bug introduced in Version 0.5
- Fix for HP 2133 Mini-Note's PCIe WLAN getting turned off inadvertently bug introduced in Version 0.5

Regarding the type of regression that will be fixed during release candidate testing, it will be limited to a regressions from Version 0.3.x, 0.4, and 0.5, and furthermore, not serious enough to hold up the official release.
Already known bugs will be dealt with during Version 0.7 development cycle, although I may not be able to fix your particular bug right away for variety of reasons.
For those rolling release type OSes, it will be nice if someone can contact their developers so that they can swap out the old code with the newer release candidate code.
The code itself still contains number of small bugs that affect certain chipsets in certain configurations, but overall, the code works much better than OpenChrome DDX Version 0.5.
My hope is people who have long forgotten VIA Technologies Chrome IGP based hardware can literally dust off their hardware, and test the code to see if it is working correctly.

Sincerely,

Kevin Brace
