While trying to install Slacko 6.3.2 on an Igel thin client, I ran into the
same problem: black screen with only a cursor.

Hardware details:

Igel D210 with 1GB RAM and 1GB compact flash drive 

Monitor: Philips Brilliance 150P2, 15" LCD monitor (1024*768),
connected via DVI.

Running lspci shows the "VX855/VX875 Chrome 9 HCM integrated Graphics"
detected.

The logfile Xorg.0.log (from Xorgwizard) contains:
