Sonovabatchfile ;)
The system I was using to full-install Puppy decided that it didn't need a
working IDE controller any more.
I thought that I could 'fool' Puppy's installer -- but of course there's a
'sanity check' that prevents Puppy from installing the 'wrong' version -- a
necessary procedure here for obvious reasons.
...and the installer doesn't run in text mode...
...and I don't have another system I can use to install, as I don't have any
other IDE based systems that I can attach a cable to, and I lack an IDE<->SATA
adapter. I don't DARE do what I did for the card reader --borrow from a
friend-- as I only have one friend I can borrow from and I've been leaning on
him too heavily lately as it is.
ARGH!
"You know, Roseanne Roseannadanna -- it's always somethin'!" ;)
I'll be back when I get this sorted.
