The patch I uploaded that you tried was create before this bug report was filed, and it was really meant for <a class="bz_bug_link bz_status_REOPENED " title="REOPENED - No signal to monitor with X and openchrome using VX855 chipset graphics" href="show_bug.cgi?id=91966">Bug 91966</a>.
