I assume that the bash script you are talking about is being provided by
another developer.
The external TMDS transmitter for DVI not working is one of the major reason
why OpenChrome has not been upgraded officially to Version 0.3.4.
I confirmed yesterday that, at least with my equipment, DVI to VGA adapter is
working.
The equipment in question is a circa 2008 Sylvania netbook with a DVI-I
connector.
Until yesterday, DVI to VGA adapter was not working correctly, but I figured
out what was going wrong (I2C bus misdetection), so now the netbook flat panel
and VGA can work in a clone mode.
Those fixes were committed early today.</pre>
