<pre>I /was/ using a USB stick... couldn't get the **** thing to boot from IDE. I
suspect that my backup card may be damaged, in addition to the one I've been
using. I'll know more when I can get a replacement card, which will be at the
beginning of April.
Worth noting as well -- I was using a passive DVI->VGA adapter. I was not
trying straight DVI.
As for Puppy -- Precise 5.7.1 is still based on Ubuntu Precise Pangolin, aka
Ubuntu 12.04. It is not until TahrPup, based on Ubuntu Trusty Tahr / 14.04,
that problems are encountered -- the versions of openchrome prior to 0.3.3 seem
to work fine; it's that specific version which is the threshold, IIRC.</pre>
