You're right Ivor.
I've just tested the MPEG2 hardware decompression and it works on the CN700
with my epia EN1500 motherboard.
I just didn't succeed yet to enable AGP, so the performance gain is not
fantastic for the moment.
Here is the error I get in Xorg.log
(EE) VIA(0): [drm] drmAgpAcquire failed 1023
(II) VIA(0): [dri] use pci.
(II) VIA(0): [drm] Using 16777216 bytes for DRM memory heap.
(II) VIA(0): [dri] frame buffer initialized.
(II) VIA(0): X context handle = 0x1
(II) VIA(0): [drm] installed DRM signal handler
(II) VIA(0): [DRI] installation complete
(II) VIA(0): [dri] kernel data initialized.
(II) VIA(0): [drm] Irq handler installed, using IRQ 11.
(EE) VIA(0): [drm] Failed to initialize DMA ring-buffer: 1005
(II) VIA(0): direct rendering enabled
(II) VIA(0): Allocated 2048 kiB of framebuffer memory for EXA scratch area.
(II) VIA(0): [Xv] Using PCI DMA for Xv image transfer.
lsmod :
...
via 42688 1
drm 62520 2 via
via_agp 7296 0
agpgart 27016 2 drm,via_agp
...
and the bios parameters are correct.
Any ideas ??
Christophe
