[Openchrome-users] Xv/XvMC picture adjustments w/OpenChrome

Hey everybody,

After fixing "720x480 problems" by now respecting the pitches and
offsets from the VIA driver in DMA mode we are getting reports of
a hue problem with the VIA driver (though I don't know if these are
really related, or if people are just trying MythTV now that the
release is imminent). This happens only if you enable Xv picture
controls. Apparently, the colors are correct with XvMC-VLD playback
and incorrect with XVideo playback.

In MythTV we apply a 50% hue adjustment when we display video using
the "XV_SWOV" adaptor (i.e. XVideo, right?). This just means we place
the default hue adjustment in the middle, between the high and low of
the range. I would just remove this adjustment, except that I believe
I added the adjustment for Ivor Hewitt and I have to place considerable
faith in Ivor's opinion since he knows more about MythTV VIA output
than I do..

Does the default hue change if you enable/disable DMA?

The reporter, T?rbjorn Jansson, is using the driver that shipped with
Xorg in FC5, are there any known XVideo picture setting problems with
that driver?
