Right enough; I was answering the wrong question (how to get 1920x1200 
out of a system with a limited RAMDAC).

Fair enough; the above mode already needs about 440MB/sec, and 1920 is 
20% more than 1600, so it would be a bit of a leap. It would be 
interesting to try experimenting on the other chipsets, though - 
particularly those which use faster memory.

If we supported 24bpp, 1920x1200 might work, and 16bpp should work fine.
