Anyways, I did seem to get it to recognize the card (after updating Xorg completely from repositories and then recompiling and installing openchrome, drm).
Xine seems to say that it's using the openchrome driver but I don't think it's accelerating MPEG2 decoding at all.  It's dropping frames by the dozens.

I noticed a previous post/email in this mailing list in regards to this:

It looks like via_mode.h was never patched for DDR2-533 clock rates.
I may try to patch it myself and see if this helps.  I run my desktop at 1024x768 and am not interested in running anything lower since I want to view HDTV.

If anyone has any suggestions/comments, I'd appreciate it.
