Yes, thanks. That indeed helped a lot. It was my intention, though. I
remember mentioning it in the pre-implementation discussion, but I guess I
got too carried away getting the panel to work or fixing up XvMC which
someone broke so horribly while trying to reduce the number of global
symbols. Let's not throw the first stone here, shall we?

It might be true, but what should the average user do in the meantime
should we ditch VBE? She can't donate hardware to you, because you won't
accept it and nobody else is really interested enough in implementing
modesetting to do a good job. Should she go for VIA's binaries or throw
away her hardware?
