That would give a small speedup in situations like this, since the 
download of a previous frame can be pipelined with the decoding of the 
current frame at practically zero CPU cost.

And even if there is no big gain with this, it can always be used for 
frame-grabbing and software high quality deinterlacing and OSD blending.
