Yup, that worked beautifully. Family peace restored. Guys, you rock!

For the record: setting up a MythTV front-end with FC4 on an EPIA SP8000 
is now reduced to 1) installing the distro and yum upgrading, 2) adding 
the epia-repo from washington.kelkoo.net and yum upgrading, 3) adding 
the atrpms-repo and installing mythtv-frontend, and finally 4) edit the 
xorg conf and reboot. You're done.
