I noticed in another message that the compile howto was recently updated.
http://wiki.openchrome.org/tikiwiki/tiki-index.php?page=Compiling+the+source+code
I followed the instructions for "Modular build (for xorg 7.0 or later)"
I am using Ubuntu 6.04, Dapper Flight 3, installed from a daily 1/27/06 iso running on MSI K8MM-V motherboard with a Sempron processor and the 2.6.15-14-k7 kernel. This motherboard is capable of 64bit but I only have a AMD k7 processor.
This board has the UnichromePro IGP K8M800. The Ubuntu dapper via driver actually works (although at install the xorg.conf file is created empty and must be configured). glxinfo reports that dri is working with the message "direct rendering: Yes".
At first planetpenguin-racer appears to work but then freezes the system fairly solid at the beginning of the race.
My goal is to compile the openchrome driver and see if it solves the problem.
I made it to the ./autogen.sh step and here is the error message:
tomy at dapperF3:~/openchrome/trunk$ ./autogen.sh

regards and thanks for the hard work devolping the via driver.
