[Openchrome-users] Via Device 1106:3108 (Rev 01)

I just pulled the latest driver, rev 189, from SVN and it compiled fine 
with XOrg 7.0 . . DRI is enabled and libviaXvMC has been loaded 
according to the XOrg.0.log . However, I'm still get hard lockups on 
kernel 2.6.16.16. I'm troubled by all of this fiasco with the latest 
kernels, i.e. those kernels greater than 2.6.16.16 which have some 
problem (interrupts) with certain Via chipsets and lead to severe 
stuttering audio. I understand that the kernel option, pci=noacpi, MIGHT 
fix this problem with newer kernels, but I have NOT verified that 
possibility. Although, I'm using a kernel which doesn't SEEM to have any 
audio problems, I'm wondering if problems with the kernel could 
contributing to the hard lockups when running most OpenGL applications. 
glxgears  seems to run without problems, however.  I get the following 
output from dmesg when the via driver is loaded :
