Newbee Questions
Hello!

I'm new to Linux (Ubuntu 5.10) and have a Via Epia M 6000.

I'd like to enable hardware mpeg accelaration to be able to watch movies (which isn't a problem in windos, so it should work in Linux, too, but until now, most avis, DivX, XviDs are too slow, or, to be more precise: the picture is slower than the audio which has the right speed).

So how do I do that?

Is installing this Openchrome Driver the right strategy for this?

Or do I have to compile a new Kernel?
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ViaEpiaDriHowto

And about this page:
On http://www.openchrome.org/snapshots/ubuntu/ is written:
"if you are using a pre Nehemia C3 processor then you need to build your own C3/i586 kernel and if you're doing that... you might as well build the drm yourself! :) "

I have a only a Samuel 2 C3 CPU, so what does it mean for me?
What else should I do?

Thanks,
Bazon
