Is confirmed. Using
#xset s 1
or
#xset dpms force {standby, suspend, off}
both put my lcd out of sync.
Then DPMS is the responsable.
The blank screen is created by X after some minutes without keyboard
ou mouse activity. I don't know what manage this screen. If ACPI or
DPMS.

I assume that's an acpi problem rather than an X driver problem... although
possibly related to (2)

Can you create a verbose X logfile for when you enter and resume from standby.
Also, what ACPI standby mode are you using? Is this standby mode (S1) or
suspend to ram mode (S3)?
