No not really.
I covered this before actually. When I benchmarked the mpeg4 acceleration of the via binary driver on a cn400 I found no significant soeedup over using the open source driver and xv.
The problem appeared to be the amount of overhead needed to process the mpge4 to get the macroblocks to feed to the decoder.
On top of that the cn400 decoder is only able to accellerate h.263... So any further work seemed a waste of time. :(
Having said that... It would be interesting for someone with the time to spare to spend some time checking and benchmarking the latest via driver and xine with a variety of mpeg formats to see how it does now.
Cheers,
Ivor

Hello,
Will this perhaps shed any light on the 'MPEG-4 acceleration' facility of
(in my case) the CN400 ?
The hardware mp4 capture of the Plextor PX-TV402U here goes un-utilised;
seriously feeling like 'jumping-ship' for one of the Intel Core 2 Duo m-ITX
boards one sees these days ...
(Come on VIA! - I've been rooting for you for a while now; where are you at?)
Regards,
Richard Seabrook
