Hi Jon
I grabbed a new copy of the driver(235) from the vt3336 branch and
compiled it and I dont have any screen problems now. Thanks loads. I
just got the xorg group to refix a problem with the vesa driver where it
wasnt writing to the shadow buffer correctly. The fix seems to be in
vesa 1.3.0 and I wasnt sure whether that driver would work with xorg
7.1. So now I dont care anymore since the openchrome driver is working a
lot better.
I still get the driver hang when I exit gnome. I dont see any debug in
Xorg.0.log. How do I enable it? I see the HAVE_DEBUG define in
via_driver.h. It seems to be defined. I cant find a definition for
xf86DrvMsg.
Also I noticed I get this in my Xorg.0.log
(WW) VIA(0): [XvMC] Cannot use XvMC without DRI!
Unknown Chip ID
So do I have to add my id (3230) to something in libxvmc?
Or am I being premature with this driver and have to wait until it does xv?
thanks
bob
