Oops. I edited the subject, this causing your reply to post as a new thread? ;)

Anyway, thanks for the great advice! :) I didn't recomplile the kernel, but changed the /etc/modules.autoload.d/kernel-2.6 file, so the modules load in this order (making the assumtion modules load from top to bottom):

agpgart
via_agp
via
drm

Now I dont get the agpAquire or DMA ring-buffer errors anymore (no errors (EE) at all in the xorg log) which is great. But I still can't change the resolution in X. But I get ALOT of these:

(WW) VIA(0): width=1024:720, height=768:576, std=1:2, name=1024x768:720x576.
(WW) VIA(0): width=1024:720, height=768:576, std=2:2, name=1024x768:720x576.

and

(WW) AIGLX: 3D driver claims to not support visual 0x22
/.../ ->
(WW) AIGLX: 3D driver claims to not support visual 0x2d

I uploaded my xorg.config in the first post. But I think it should be pretty much correct concerning the different resolution modes. I get 1280x1024 trying with vesa.
