mplayer XvMC Pro patch works for SD but not HD
Is the P4M800Pro unable to do HD?  There is much conflicting information online.

[VD_FFMPEG] XVMC-VLD-accelerated MPEG-2.
[VD_FFMPEG] Trying pixfmt=0.
VDec: vo config request - 1920 x 1080 (preferred colorspace: MPEG1/2 Motion Compensation and VLD)
VDec: using MPEG1/2 Motion Compensation and VLD as output csp (no 0)
Movie-Aspect is 1.78:1 - prescaling to correct movie aspect.
VO: [xvmc] 1920x1080 => 1920x1080 MPEG1/2 Motion Compensation and VLD
vo_xvmc: Could not find free matching surface. Sorry.
FATAL: Cannot initialize video driver.

same for Trying pixfmt=1 and Trying pixfmt=2\

I played some Half D1 352x480 and it worked okay.  Am I missing something for HD?
