Hi,

I just tried the openchrome driver in my FS Amilo Pro v3515, it's working but with several problems:

- The branch called "experimental_branch" doesn't work at all, I just get a black screen, there is no special error message, indeed it starts window manager and all, maybe the image is going through the external video output, I haven't tested.

- The branch called "vn896_branch" works! But I have seen this important problems:

+ It just works the first time after booting the laptop, if I stop X and start them again I just get the black screen. This is serious because once I log into xdm if I logout (xdm stop and starts X) I get the screen screwed, not black, but with strange patterns...

+ GLX hangs the computer, just execute glxgears ant it freezes.

The PCI id is 3371, so I understand it's a p4m900 not a vm896, correct me if I'm wrong.

I downloaded both branches today, and also compiled the drm and via kernel modules in the way you say in this wiki.

I have just tested it about 3 hours, so I suppose I will find much more problems.

I will be happy of helping the development of the driver, I can make test, try new code, patches... whatever is needed, I have lots of experiencie as Perl and Php programer, never wrote a line in C or C++.

I haven't much time and couldn't read the whole wiki, so I don't know how could I help to the development of the driver, any suggestion would be appreciated, I will return to read this thread next week.
