[Openchrome-users] anyone interested in working on CM700M2 integrated TV-encoder driver?

Hi,

I have been fighting for over a week now to get anything close to decent
TV-Output on the integrated (HD)TV-encoder of the CX700M2 Chipset, but
no luck so far. With the openchrome drivers the TV-encoder finally
displayed something, but it defaults to scaling whatever comes from the
VGA chip to PAL (or NTSC) with a large border around it. Naturally the
lines can not be kept intact and so all vertical lines loose their
independece of their neighbours and a field-based TV output is
impossible. Very bad, but as expected.

The via driver offers some s3utility tool for adjusting the overscan but
it stops right one or two clicks away from fitting!

Since I need a TV-output that operates within PAL-specs with fields I
can capture and separate cleanly, I have no use for this board at the
moment. On the other hand I need a very small solution..

Sadly my programming skills are next to none, exept for some scripting,
so I can't solve this issue myself. But if any developer here has
interest in checking out this integrated encoder, I would donate a VIA
NX12000EG straight away, since I will make use of the better driver for
my work.

So if there is anyone interested here in working on this chipset, drop
me a line.

Best regards,
../nico berndt
