Are you sure your TV set is actually able to properly display the signal 
? I am using S-Video output to a SCART convertor plugged into my TV and 
I had to strap 2 pins of the SCART connector to get a coloured image 
instead of b&W. Luminance and chrominance iirc. Don't remember what the 
pins are from the top of my head.
