What would be the use?

Come one guys, we all want the same: free software run on our computers
and in this case we want our video hardware to work on our free software
systems.

Let's not rant, but work on it together! It is really silly that your
projects are split up. You don't need to do this, there's a simple mode
that makes both goals work:
1) create free software support for the VIA chips
2) make that code really good

Isn't it simply a matter of "first make it work and then make it good"?
Agile development? Extreme programming? If you're not afraid of
refactoring code, you can still improve the quality of the code a lot,
whilst having the maximum hardware support. The two projects are both
doing great things... But by working together your projects could be so
much more efficient... The whole cursor code could be in there long ago.

So, don't be stubborn, but cooperate, it really is a lot more fruitful.

OK, I have no right to interfere in this, but I couldn't resist giving
my 2 cents of an outsider's opinion. (FWIW.)

Good luck in working together and make fantastic free software!

(It takes courage to give in and start working together!)

Kind regards,

Manuel
