[Openchrome-users] HardwareCaveats: VN800 and Xv

Hi,

unfortunately, I couldn't confirm Your solution on my system:

This is a FSC Amilo Pro V2055 (VN800, VT 8237R+), Debian etch, thus
kernel 2.6.18-5 and openchrome revision 442. As for the so-called
"DRM-stuff", I'm using the versions shipping with etch. I'm not sure
about whether or not it's important to use the latest versions here. But
whenever I tested the Debian versions vs. the most recent GIT-Versions
described in the wiki, I couldn't see any differences - including the
problem of ticket 40 we're discussing here. Except this, everything
works fine.

When I use the Device-section You propose and even recompile mplayer
RC2, the problem concerning xv persists exactly as described in the ticket.

Could You post Your xorg.conf to see whether there's another hint on
this topic? The hardware information You provide in Your posting seems
to rely on some kind of written document. Would You perhaps mind having
a look on Your boot messages, in which way the chipset is described
there (on my laptop there's something like "VIA VLink VN800 ..." stuff)?

Regards,

PM
