[Openchrome-users] Scrambeld screens in Ubuntu 7.10 with VN800

I compiled and installed the openchrome driver from svn, revision 425, using the openchrome.sh script found in the Ubuntu Forums on a fresh install of Ubuntu 7.10.
The openchrome.sh script is great. Compiles the driver and modifies xorg.conf to use the driver. X starts up using the openchrome driver.
The display OK for a bit and starts to scramble.
Its almost as if old screen memory is getting switched in that shows a
history of the cursor locations and window positions. For example, If I
drag a dialog box across the screen. It will land and position fine,
but I will eventually get a screen that shows its trails. Windows and dialog box contents and items on the ubuntu menu bars disappear. Have to cursor over, click on them or resize the
windows to get items to redraw.
This is on an Everex StepNote NC1500 (VN800+VT8237) with a Via C7-M 1500 Eden Processor.
Any help or Ideas are appreciated.
