[Openchrome-users] Chrome9 VT3371 using experimental branch

  Hello all,

   I'm having here the same annoying low-resolution (only 640x480 @ 60 Hz)
issue when using the experimental VT3371 driver.

Specs:     Ubuntu 7.04 on a Sempron 3400+ machine
               VIA k8m890 (BIOS stats: 64Mb AGP Aperture size, 128Mb shared
video memory)
               Monitor I-INH AH191D (1140x900 native resolution)

    You'll find the xorg.conf and xorg log files attached (gzip).

    Maybe the following lines extracted from the xorg logfile can provide
some insight on this issue:

* Memory detected (set as 128Mb at BIOS):
at some point:
(**) VIA(0): VideoRAM 0kB

then:
(--) VIA(0): videoram =  16896k

* Specifically about my monitor native resolution:
(II) VIA(0): ViaValidMode: Validating 1440x900 (108840)
(II) VIA(0): ViaModePrimaryVGAValid
(II) VIA(0): CrtcHSyncEnd out of range.
(II) VIA(0): Not using default mode "1440x900" (horizontal sync too wide)

and:
(II) VIA(0): ViaValidMode: Validating 1440x900 (106500)
(II) VIA(0): ViaModePrimaryVGAValid
(II) VIA(0): Required bandwidth is not available. (310456507 > 74000000)
(II) VIA(0): Not using driver mode "1440x900" (mode clock too high)
(II) VIA(0): ViaValidMode: Validating 1440x900 (136750)
(II) VIA(0): ViaModePrimaryVGAValid
(II) VIA(0): Required bandwidth is not available. (388719276 > 74000000)
(II) VIA(0): Not using driver mode "1440x900" (mode clock too high)
(II) VIA(0): ViaValidMode: Validating 1440x900 (106500)
(II) VIA(0): ViaModePrimaryVGAValid



   Sorry about the long email, but I'm trying to give as much information as
I can in order to identify the cause of this problem... Any help is welcome!
