The card is supported, at least by the openchrome drivers in portage in
gentoo. However, there is a lot of weirdness with the Framebuffer
(kernel 2.6.28 should have the correct drivers) and I have not managed
to get it to auto-config the monitor. (Not sure if I've missed the
appropriate option or if it's not there yet)

I would suggest trying to do the install in text mode, and than getting
the driver working. I would also note that the Gentoo wiki [1] has a lot
of information about this system.
