I have a display that supports 16:9 aspect ratio at resolutions of
800x480 and 1280x768, and would like to make the Via CX700M2 (on the via
PX1000g) support this. I am building svn experimental branch of
openchrome via the gentoo ebuld "x11-drivers/xf86-video-openchrome"
Also using these gentoo packages:
  x11-base/xorg-x11-7.2
  x11-base/xorg-server-1.3.0.0-r2 (dir input_devices_evdev input_mouse
input_devices_keyboard input_devices_mouse ipv6 nptl sdl xorg)

Without putting too much in this initial posting, this is a snip from my
from my Xorg.0.log using:  grep 700 /var/log/Xorg.0.log
(**) |   |-->Monitor "Xenarc-700TSV"
(**) |   |-->Device "CX700"
        PM800/PM880/CN400, VM800/CN700/P4M800Pro, K8M890, P4M900/VN896,
        CX700, P4M890
(--) Chipset CX700 found
(--) VIA(0): Chipset: "CX700"
(--) VIA(0): Detected VIA VT3324 (CX700).
(II) VIA(0): VESA VBE OEM: VIA CX700
(II) VIA(0): Xenarc-700TSV: Using default hsync range of 31.50-37.90 kHz
(II) VIA(0): Xenarc-700TSV: Using default vrefresh range of 50.00-70.00 Hz

Two questions.
  Should the chip be recognized as CX700M2 and not a CX700?
  How do I get the desired 16:9 resolutions?
Thank you!
